Between the food, the sights, and the entertainment, there is no lack of things to do in the city!

The Hilton Garden Inn where guest rooms are blocked, offers a complementary shuttle to the Ronkonkoma train station, from which you can take a direct train to Penn Station in Manhattan. If you are coming from another area of Long Island, nearly every LIRR train station on the island offers trains into the city. Schedules are available at mta.info

The Bride and Groom recommend:

Dining:
To break out of the Outback and Foster's mold of Australian cuisine and go for something much more authentic, our favorite Aussie tucker shops in Manhattan are:
The Australian (the kangaroo skewers are wonderful)
The Tuck Shop (spot-on authentic meat pies and sausage rolls)
Eight Mile Creek (grab an Aussie beer and watch the cricket
match).

If more traditional fare is what you are looking for, you can always visit Carmine's for delicious family-style Italian food, which is also the restaurant where we had our first date.

Sightseeing:
For iconic NYC sights, we recommend a visit to the Highline Park, which is built on a historic elevated freight rail line on the West Side spanning from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street. To get a bird's-eye view of the city, take a trip to "Top of the Rock" at 30 Rockefeller Center (the building also known for the show 30 Rock).

A trip to Manhattan is not complete without a visit to Times Square, which is a pedestrian area spanning from 42nd to 47th street at the junction between Broadway and Seventh Avenue. This area is also the theater district, so take in a Broadway play while there as well. For even more shopping and restaurants, SoHo is a great area to visit.
