Jill and Dan met originally via an online game that Jill was introduced to by her brother. For over a year while Jill was in America and Dan was in Australia, they kept daily contact with each other as friends, chatting about everything and anything.
It was in 2006 that they realized that there may be something more to their relationship, so Dan came to visit Jill in New York for a week. Things went so well that the next January Jill went to Sydney to stay with Dan for a month, and at this point they knew that they were meant to be together. Dan got a job in New York, packed all of his belongings into two suitcases, and took a huge leap of faith by moving to New York that April.
As immigration logistics prevented him from getting paid at work for several months, he moved into the den at Jill’s (infinitely understanding) parents house, who he stayed with while Jill went back to school at Rutgers. Over four years later, Dan proposed, and now they are preparing for the rest of their lives together.
